It took one of Nicole Melious’ finest game of her college career to propel Siena Women’s basketball to an 80-54 victory over New Haven (2-5) Wednesday night at home. It was the Saints’ first win of the young 2025-26 campaign.
Melious, a redshirted sophomore who is from Staten Island, N.Y., drained a season-best 15 points, grabbed six rebounds, and made a MAAC single-season and a career-high eight steals in the Siena (1-7) victory.
Additionally, Francesca Schiro–a freshman product out of Hillsborough High School, in New Jersey– led Siena with 16 points, and added three assists. Junior guard Caydence Hadley posted a career-high 13 points, made five shots from the field, and collected six rebounds, while freshman guard Kaiya Rain Tucker snatched seven rebounds and made four steals.
Up next, the Saints host Central Connecticut State on Monday, December at 6:00 p.m.
