Freshman Aliyah Lambo of Division III Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) Women’s basketball program averaged nine points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal en route to earning the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Rookie of the Week honor, yesterday the team announced.
Additionally, Lambo, a 5-fot-7 guard from Bloomfield, N.J., finished with a season-high 12 points against Lesley University last week.
Lambo played high school basketball for Randolph High School (N.J.) and AAU hoops for Team Lightning Melious.
Lambo drained 216 points, grabbed 200 rebounds, dished out 80 assists and made 54 steals in 30 games in the 2023-23 New Jersey High School girls’ basketball season.
The Mariners are 4-1 this season and will host North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent Husson Friday at 7:30 p.m.
