As Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Boy’s basketball continues to heat up early on in the season, here is how the action shook up in Manhattan this past Thursday.
East Side Community Vs. Richard Green HS of Teaching
East Side Community High School Boy’s basketball (Manhattan, N.Y.) used 37 points from senior Daniel Silva to edge Richard Green High School of Teaching (4-2), 83-79, Friday at Broadway Educational Gym in PSAL Division 1A — Manhattan I action.
Silva added five rebounds and three assists, while seniors Jack Rosado and Jeremiah Eagan contributed 19 points and 16 points, respectively, in the Tiger’s (5-1) win.
Eleanor Roosevelt Vs. Manhattan Village Academy
Sophomore Justin Bhikam (21) and senior Daniel Chanti (21) combined to score 42 points to helped pace Eleanor Roosevelt High School Boy’s basketball team (7-1) to a 75-34 victory over Manhattan Village Academy (1-6) at Basketball City (South St) Friday night in Division 1A — Manhattan- II play.
Additionally, Chanti grabbed 12 rebounds, and Bhikam collected seven boards. Junior John Fox dropped in 10 points and pulled down a game-best 15 rebounds in the lopsided win.
Junior Jeremy Garcia scored a team-high 14 points for Manhattan Village Academy.
