The Winnipeg Goldeyes re-signed left-handed pitcher Weston Lombard for the upcoming 2026 American Association season, yesterday the league announced on X.
Lombard return to the fold after the Goldeyes inked him on July 12th. The University of San Francisco Baseball product made six appearances, posting a 1-0 mark with 1.80 ERA with seven strikeouts out of the bullpen before a season-ending injury.
“Weston’s time with us last season was cut short by injury,” Goldeyes field manager Logan Watkins said on Goldeyes.com. “But, when he was available, he showed he can be a strong arm for us. I think we will be getting an even better version this season, and we are excited to see it.”
Lombard made his professional debut with the New York Boulders of the Frontier League, in which he recorded a 2-1 record with a 3.86 ERA in two starts in 2023.
He registered a 14-12 record with a 4.27 ERA during his college career at Gustavus Adolphus College (Saint Peter, Minnesota) and San Francisco.
