PSAL Manhattan Boy’s Basketball Recap: Close Games and Big Wins


Monday night saw a Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Manhattan Boys High School basketball team survive a close contest, while another program engaged in a blowout matchup.

Here is how the action shook out.

Baruch College Campus Vs. American Sign Language and English

Baruch College Campus High School Boy’s basketball team raced out to 31-20 first lead.

Though American Sign Language and English (5-4) chipped away at the advantage in the second half, the Blue Devils Bearcats (9-1) held on for the 55-50 victory Monday night at home in Division 1A — Manhattan- II action.

Junior Maksim Stefanovic led the charge with 18 points, six rebounds, and four assists for Baruch. Junior Hudson Roberts contributed 12 points, six helpers, and five boards.

Senior Justin Hernandez scored a team-high 18 points for the Tigers.

School of the Future Vs. High School of Fashion Industries

Sophomore Zane Brenner scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds as School of the Future High School (3-7) Boy’s basketball squad routed High School of Fashion Industries (0-10), 77-46, Monday night at Basketball City (South Street) in Division 1A — Manhattan- II play.

Junior Emeri Reece chipped in with 11 points, while senior James Sholes had 10 points and six boards in the win.
