A pair of former New York Mets — Chance Sisco (Chicago Dogs) and Aaron Altherr (Kansas City Monarchs) — yesterday signed with different American Association, an MLB partner league, teams.
Sisco, a catcher, returns to the Dogs after slugging .301 with 17 home runs and 61 RBI in 342 at-bats in 95 games in 2025. He added two longballs and five RBI in 24 at-bats in seven playoff contests.
With the Mets, Sisco picked up a double, an RBI, a walk, and a run scored in nine at-bats in five contests in 2021.
The Baltimore Orioles picked Sisco in the 2nd round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Santiago HS in Corona, California.
Altherr, an outfielder, cranked 20 homers and drove in 76 runs in 361 at-bats in 96 games with the Cleburne Railroaders last season.
Altherr played parts of six campaigns with the Philadelphia Phillies, New York, and San Francisco Giants, clubbing 37 home runs, driving in 150 runs, and stealing 21 bases in 1016 at-bats in 359 games.
The Phillies selected Altherr in the 9th round of the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Agua Fria High School in Avondale, Arizona.
