Senior Araya Lichtman (24) and junior Brianna Ardolic (18) combined to score 42 points in Tottenville High School’s Girl’s basketball 83-51 victory over Thurgood Marshall Academy (11-1) in Public School Athletic League (PSAL) action Saturday at home.
The win helped the Pirates improved their record to an undefeated 12-0 in league play.
Tottenville took control of the game, leading the Panthers 44-29 at the break. The Pirates played lockdown defense in the second half, only permitting 22 points to their 39, as the dribbling away with the victory.
Litchman added four assists and three rebounds, while Ardolic grabbed eight boards in the Tottenville lopsided win.
Additionally, sophomore Gabriella Ortiz enjoyed a monster game with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds, and junior Grace Anderson chipped in with 12 points, six helpers, and five boards. Sophomore Kayla SouleIdis contributed 11 points and six rebounds.
One of the keys to the contest was the Pirates’ ability to own the glass, collecting a total of 38 boards.
