New York State High School Basketball Players – Curbelo, Shumpert – Garner Awards
Long Island Lutheran's Curbelo, who's committed to Illinois, garnered News Day's Long Island Player of the Year honor for the second consecutive season, while Payton Shumpert of Jamesville DeWitt High School in Syracuse, New York, picked up the Empire Division Player of the Year award.
