2 Ex-PSAL Boys Hoopers, Johnson, Martin, Combine for 21 for Rhode Island in 79-71 Season-Opening Loss to AZ

Two former PSAL boy’s basketball players–Devale Johnson of Brooklyn Collegiate and Malik Martin of Curtis High School–were on the same side for Rhode Island Men’s hoops on Wednesday night.

The duo totaled 21 points for the Rams in a 94-88 losing effort to No 18 Arizona in the season opener at the 2020 2K Empire Classic at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.

But in the PSAL Boy’s Quarterfinals in their senior years, the Warriors knocked off the Lions, per a BCLionsHoops Tweet.

Johnson, a redshirted junior forward, and Martin, a junior guard, scored 12 and nine points, respectively, for Rhode Island.

Additionally, Harlem, NY, native and redshirted sophomore Jalen Carry, who played for Immaculate Conception High School (Syracuse), added eight points in the defeat.
