With over 50 college basketball offers under her belt, Staten Island’s Nicole Melious, arguably the best high school player in the state of New York, today committed to Georgia Tech, per her Tweet.
Originally committed to Purdue as a freshman, the 5-foot-8 guard had offers from top programs the likes of Rutgers, Quinnipiac, Seton Hall, Fordham, Univeristy of Denver, Manhattan College, US Naval Academy, Univeristy of Loyal Chicago, and Syracuse, among others.
Melious, a sophomore, plays high school basketball for Susan Wagner on Staten Island, and is an ESPN four-star recruit and No. 15 prospect on ASGR Basketball’s rankings list.
She enjoyed a tremendous freshman year with the Lady Falcons, averaging a little under 28 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists per game for the 24-3 Susan Wagner basketball squad.
Melious also plays hoops for the AAU Hoopers NY program. The PSAL girl’s basketball is scheduled to start on May 15.
Georgia Tech posted a 17-9 overall mark and went 12-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
