The Pennington School and Jersey Gemz U17 guard Morgan Matthews has picked up an offer from Division I Lafayette Women’s basketball program, today she Tweeted.
The 6-foot rising junior also holds offers from Drexel, UMass, Fordham, Columbia, Harvard, Penn and Bucknell, per her Twitter account.
Long and lean, Matthews owns a great handle, a nice outside shot and can get to the hoop and finish with regularity. Plus, she is a defensive force, as she made a team-leading 76 steals and blocked 55 shots last season.
Additionally, Matthews shined on the offensive end, scoring team-bests with 453 points and grabbed 150 rebounds. She also dished out 64 assists in the 2021-22 New Jersey girl’s high school campaign.
Lafayette posted a 12-18 mark and went 7-11 in Patriot League Conference action this past season.
