Class of 2024 Christ the King High School (N.Y.) guard Dwayne Pierce has verbally committed to Division I Iowa State Mens’ basketball program, yesterday VerbalCommits.com Tweeted.
Additionally, the 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard held offers from Rutgers, Fordham, Marist, Pittsburgh, Florida State, Illinois, Rhode Island, Bryant, Seton Hall, Creighton, LSU, George Washington, St. John’s, Georgia Tech, UAB, Memphis, New Mexico State and Nebraska, according to VerbalCommits.com.
Pierce is a gifted scorer, as one minute he is burying a successful three-pointer. The next, he is making defenders look as if they are stuck in glue, as he blazes past his opponents en route to the hoop for a bucket.
The Cyclones are 14-4 and 5-2 in Big 12 Conference play this season.
