To say Hun School of Princeton (N.J.) rising senior Markus Brown possesses all the physical tools to be an above average overall athlete is a bit of an understatement.
Brown is a 6-foot-7, 225-pound tight end/wide receiver/defensive end on the Raiders’ football team. Plus, the Rumson, N.J., native owns a 35-inch vertical leap and runs the 40 in 4.68 seconds, to go along with a 5-foot-10 high jump, 41.6-inch triple jump and what seems to be a great work ethic, not to mention a 4.1 GPA, per his Twitter account.
High school football scout Jake Lemming went as far as to call him a 2024 sleeper on Twitter.
But now Brown is putting it all together, and getting a bit of recognition, as Division I Bucknell has offered him today. This is on the heels of an offer from Georgetown in May, plus several visits to colleges and camps across the East Coast, according to his Tweeter account.
Brown, playing for Rumson-Fair Haven across the last two seasons, recorded seven sacks and 67.5 total tackles, 10.5 of which were for losses, 29 assisted and 28 solo, with a fumble recovery in the mix.
It is conceivable to say that Brown will earn a handful more D1 offers in the near future.
Bucknell posted a 3-8 overall record and went 2-4 in Patriot League Conference (PLC) action in the 2022-23 campaign.
