Class of 2026 Stella Ziogas (New Rochelle High School) enjoyed a terrific game, leading the NY Hoopers to a 71-48 win over Crossroads in the Team Miller/Coaches’ Choice Challenge with a double-double of 16 points and 11 assists Sunday at Edison High School in New Jersey. She also added four rebounds and six steals in the lopsided victory.
Hoopers NY head coach Dan Melious extolled Ziogas’ for the way the sophomore standout has progressed over the year while being a force on the court in several facets of the game.
“Stella is an incredible player and talent,” Melious explained. “She’s taking what she learned playing 17U a year ago and now you can see the game has slowed for her. Her downhill game and in the open court are where she shines best.”
Additionally, she is a “big-time player and a pest on defense,” he added. “She’s what you want in a point guard/floor general — high IQ and looks to get her teammates the ball.”
Aliyah Lambo, who also plays for Randolph High School in New Jersey, chipped in with 16 points and seven thefts while Emma Sollenne (St. Luke’s/Conn.) contributed 14 points and five boards.
