Outfielder Gary Mattis Inks with Lincoln Saltdogs

Lincoln Saltdogs have signed outfielder Gary Mattis for the upcoming 2024 independent American Assocation campaign, today the team announced via X.

Mattis spent parts of the 2021-23 seasons with the @evilleotters as well as time in the @dbacks system.

Mattis, who was born in the Bronx, spent 2023 with the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League and the High-A Hillsboro Hops (Arizona Diamondbacks), slugging six home runs and 29 RBI in 244 at-bats in 67 games in both stops.

Mattis, 25, played college ball at Division I Florida Atlantic and Tennessee Wesleyan. He batted .399 with 34 long balls, 118 RBI, and slashed an impressive .507/.795/1.302 in 356 at-bats in 96 contests between the two colleges in three years.
