Catcher Jason Agresti Returns to Miners’ Fold for 2024


Catcher Jason Agresti returns to the Sussex County Miners for the 2024 Frontier League campaign, yesterday the team announced on X.

Agresti, a former University of Binghamton Bearcat, enjoyed a solid season with the Miners last season. The 27-year-old hit .266 with a slugging percentage of .368, four home runs and 30 RBI. Defensively, Agresti caught 24 runners trying to steal, per the Miners’ X account.

Agresti spent 2022 with the New Jersey Jackals of the Frontier League, where he batted .287 with eight home runs and 49 RBI in 307 at-bats in 87 games. For his performance, he made the Frontier League All Star Team that same year.

In his four-year career with the Bearcats, he amassed 166 hits, 108 RBI and 50 doubles, which was second-most in program history.

Binghamton selected Agresti as the University’s Jake Pitler Award recipient for career achievement and leadership.

The Yorktown Heights, N.Y., native attended Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, N.Y., where he held a career batting average of .410 with 15 home runs, 125 hits and 94 RBI.
