Class of 2026 Blair Academy (N.J.) point guard Deron Rippey, Jr. has received an offer from Division I University Illinois Men’s basketball programs, yesterday VerbalCommits.com wrote on X.
Additionally, the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Rippey, who also plays for New Heights Lightning NYC, holds 11 D-1 offers including ones from Syracuse, Binghamton, LIU, Fordham, Hofstra, St. John’s, among other programs, per VerbalCommits.com.
Rippey, a Brooklyn native, has scored 103 points, 33 assists and 18 steals through nine games played thus far in the 2023-24 campaign.
Illinois is 19-7 overall and has gone 10-5 in Big 10 Conference action so far this season.
