Infielder Josh Altmann joins the Lake Country DockHounds (American Assocation) after the Chicago Dogs traded him for relief pitcher Augie Voight yesterday.
Altmann, 29, enjoyed an impressive year, hitting .290 with 26 homeruns, 88 RBI and 73 runs scored in 98 games with the Dogs in 2023. He also slashed .389/.595/.984.
Voight, 26, spilt 2023 with the Long Island Ducks (Atlantic League) and DockHounds, posting a 7-3 mark with a 4.66 ERA in 96.2 innings of work in 24 contests.
Altmann, whom the Texas Rangers selected in the 22nd round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Olivet Nazarene University (Bourbonnais, IL), made the 2021 AA All-Star team while with the Lincoln Saltdogs.
Voight played Division II college baseball for William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, posting a 6-7 record in 98 frames and 4.50 ERA across two years.
