Hard-Throwing All-Star Righty Ronnie Voacolo is Back with Sussex Miners


Relief pitcher Ronnie Voacolo returns to Sussex County for the 2024 Frontier League campaign, today the Miners wrote on X.

Voacolo spent a majority of his offseason competing in the Puerto Rican Winter League for the RA12 team. 

Before that, Voacolo, a righty from Hamilton, N.J., enjoyed an impressive season, going 0-1 with a 1.10 ERA, a WHIP of .857, two saves and 51 strikeouts in 32.2 innings of work in 30 games in 2023.

The 6-foot-2, 220 pounder’s impressive numbers helped him achieve 2023 Frontier League All-Star status.

Collegiately, Voacolo, 24, posted an 8-0 mark with four saves and 82 strikeouts in 70.2 frames in 31 appearances with Southeastern University (Lakeland, Fla.) in three years at the school. He also played for Nottingham High School baseball.

The Miners open up the season on Friday, May 10th at 7:05 p.m. against Trois-Riveires Aigles.
