Liam Pulsipher, Son of Ex-Met Pitcher Bill, Makes Long Island Ducks’ Roster

Liam Pulsipher, son of former New York Mets pitcher, Bill Pulsipher, has made the Long Island Ducks opening day roster out of spring training after the team’s open tryout on Saturday, April 13th, today his dad announced on X, formerly Twitter.

The lefty tossed an unblemished ninth inning for the Ducks in their 14-0 combined no-hitter Friday against California Dogecoin. He showed enough to make Long Island’s roster, due to his poise, wiliness to learn and work hard, according to a source.

Pulsipher, 23, toed the rubber for Queens College and Stony Brook, posting a 11-11 record with a 4.89 ERA with two saves and 156 strikeouts in 171.0 innings of work in 38 games.

Before college, Pulsipher pitched for Center Moriches High School on Long Island, where he went 8-1 with a 0.78 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 49 frames, pacing the Red Devils to a 2018 Class B State Championship.

Bill Pulsipher, who also played for the Ducks, put up a 13-19 mark with a 5.15 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 327 innings with the Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox in six MLB seasons.

With Long Island, Pulsipher fired a 9-5 record with a 3.67 ERA, helping the team capture a 2004 Atlantic League title.

The Ducks open up the 2024 Atlantic League campaign Thursday at 6:35 p.m., as they host the Lancaster Stomers.
