Emily Salafia: Rising Star of St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School Earns Coastal Georgia Women’s Basketball Offer

Emily Salafia of St. Joseph by-the-Sea (Staten Island) High School and Team Lightning Melious has picked up an offer from the College of Coastal Georgia, a National Assocation Intercollegiate Assocation (NAIA) Women’s basketball program, yesterday Team Lightning head coach Dan Melious wrote on via X.

Emily Salafia of St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School Girl’s basketball earns Costal Georgia women’s basketball.

The dynamic rising sophomore also holds offers from D-1 Chicago State and D-II Fort Lauderdale, per her X account.

The athletic 5-foot-6 guard is making a big splash on the hardwood due to her excellent court vision, coupled with her solid mid-range jumper and defensive-busting floater which is effective against taller opponents. Add in Salafia’s high hoops acumen and ability to handle the big time, and the sky seems to be the limited for this young, budding standout player.

The Mariners posted an 8-18 overall record and went 1-13 in Sun Conference action in the 2023-24 campaign.
