With the Triple-A Syracuse Mets trailing the Durham Bulls (Cincinatti) in the bottom of the ninth, designated hitter Eddie Rosario step to the plate a delivered a game-tying home run.
Then, right fielder DJ Stewart sent the Bulls (57-64) packing after lofting a fly ball over the right field wall for a his second longball of the season, giving Syracuse (66-53) a 3-2 walk-off victory Tuesday night at NBT Bank Stadium.
First baseman Mike Brosseau started things off for the Mets with a bomb over the left field fence for a 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the third.
But Durham scored two runs in the top of the fourth to surge ahead, 2-1, before Stewart’s dinger won the game for Syracuse.
Dedniel Núñez, on a rehab assignment, tossed an inning of scoreless relief with a strikeout.
Starting pitcher Dom Hamel (3-6), New York’s 15th rated prospect, went five innings, surrendering two runs on seven hits with five punchouts and two walks.
Alex Young (3-0) picked up the win after pitching 1.1 scoreless frames for the Mets.
