Class of 2025 New Mexico Junior College forward/center Melian Martínez has received an offer from Division I Hofstra University Pride Men’s basketball program, yesterday he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Martinez also holds offers from Fresno State and Louisiana Tech, according to VerbalCommits.com.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound big man played six games with St. Bonaventure in the 2023-24 campaign.
Before college, Martinez spent his senior season at North Florida Educational Institute in Jacksonville, where he helped guide the program to a 24-8 overall record and a spot in the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 2A final four. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native averaged 8.1 points and a team-best 9.9 rebounds. He also blocked over four shots per game.
The Pride posted a 20-13 overall record and went 12-6 in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) conference action in the 2023-24 campaign.
