J.C. Escarra, whom the New Yankees added to their 40-man roster, has captured the LIDOM (Dominican Professional Baseball League-winter) batting title with an impressive .363 average, the Somerset Patriots, the Yankees Double-A Eastern League affiliate, yesterday announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Escarra, 29, hit .261 with 12 home runs and 64 RBI while slashing .355/.434/.789 in 426 at-bats in 124 tilts between stops with the AAA-Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and the Patriots in the 2024 season.

Before joining the Yankees’ organization, Escarra suited up for the Toros De Tijuana and Union Laguna of the Mexican Baseball League, where he belted seven home runs and 24 RBI in 162 at-bats in 42 contests between both clubs in the 2023 campaign.

Before that, the Cuban-American spent time with the independent Gastonia Honey Hunters in the Atlantic League, batting .348 with 15 longballs and 41 RBI, while slashing .423/.707/1.131 in 164 at-bats in 41 contests.
