Mets Ink Adbert Alzolay to Minor League Deal to Help Fortify its Bullpen Depth

The New York Mets are in the process of signing right-handed pitcher Adbert Alzolay to a two-year minor league deal, according to SNY.

Alzolay, 29, underwent Tommy John Surgery in 2024, but recorded 22 saves in 64.00 innings of work in 58 games for the Chicago Cubs in 2023.

Provided Alzolay proves he is healthy, he could be a key addition to the Mets’ bullpen this coming season, as they continue to restructure their pen. He picked up four saves and went 1-4 in 17.1 frames for Chicago last year.

The Venezuelan native has notched 27 saves across parts of six seasons with the Cubs.
