For their first signing of the year, the Staten Island FerryHawks of the independent Atlantic League have inked former MLB pitcher Adalberto Mejía for the upcoming 2025 season, today the team announced via X, formerly known as Twitter.

Mejia last pitched with the Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Winter League (DWL) in the 2021-22 campaign. Before that, Mejía toed the rubber with the Wei Chuan Dragons of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) in 2021.
The 31-year-old lefty pitched in parts of four MLB seasons with the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Angels, and St. Louis Cardinals, posting a 6-9 record with a 4.62 ERA.
The FerryHawks open up the year on Friday, April 25th, at 6:30 p.m. on the road at Hagerstown Flying Boxcars.
