The Gastonia Ghost Peppers have signed catcher and New Jersey native Gavin Stupienski for the upcoming independent 2025 Atlantic League season, today the team announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Stupienski spent the past two seasons with the Sussex County Miners of the Frontier League. Last year, the soon-to-be 31-year-old batted .280 with a .776 OPS, eight longballs and 37 RBI.
In 2023, the Princeton, New Jersey-born lefty-hitting slashed .301/.391/.479, with a .869 OPS and 17 home runs in 94 games.
Stupienski spent time with both the Arizona Diamondbacks and Kansas City Royals organizations, reaching as high as Double-A Northwest Arkansas in 2022 with the Royals system.
The Arizona Diamondbacks chose Stupienski in the 12th round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
