Archbishop Stepinac Wins Thrilling CHSAA Basketball Championship Over St. Raymond


It took an overtime period for Archbishop Stepinac High School Boy’s basketball team to defeat St. Raymond, 63-61, in an exciting Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Class AA Intersectional New York City Hoops Championship contest Sunday at Fordham University.

The Crusaders accomplished a three-peat with the victory over the Ravens.

It was a total team effort, with junior Jasiah Jervis leading the charge with 17 points and three rebounds. Junior Hassan Koureissi contributed 13 points, eight boards and four assists, while junior Dylan Perry dropped in 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.

Plus, junior Adonis Ratliff poured in nine points, pulled down 10 boards and had three blocked shots, senior Danny Carbuccia added eight points, seven helpers and seven boards, and sophomore Josh Rivera had six points and two rebounds.

Stepinac has posted a 25-4 overall record and were 19-1 in CHSAA action in the 2024-25 campaign.

Next up: CHSAA title holders, the Crusaders, versus PSAL Champion. Tentative date is Sunday, March 23rd, with time and location TBA.
