Ian Jackson, who played for North Carolina last season, today has signed with St. John’s Men’s basketball program, per sports media outlets.
Jackson, a gifted guard who hails from the Bronx, averaged 11.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 36 contests played for the Tar Heels in the 2024-25 season. The then-freshman shot 45.6 percent from the floor, including 39.5 percent from beyond the arc (60 of 152).
The Harlem, N.Y., native starred at Our Saviour Lutheran (OSL) High School in The Bronx. He averaged 23.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game for OSL, which went by the team name Jelly Fam when they played in Overtime Elite.
Before OSL, Jackson attended Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx, where he averaged 19.8 points, five boards and four helpers, and helped the team capture the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) New York State title as a junior.
The Red Storm posted a 31-5 record and went 18-2 in Big East Conference action in the 2024-25 campaign.
