Santana Versus Pena’s Epic Wrestling Match Highlights Battle Club Pro’s May the Villain Reign 2 in the Bronx

Battle Club Pro (BCP) proved why it is one of the better independent professional outfits in New York City and everywhere else where pro wrestling is happening. BCP held its “May the Villain Reign 2” card Saturday at Pugsley Preparatory Academy in the Bronx before a raucous crowd.

The action was fever-pitched, sizzling, and unmatched, bar none. Here is how things shook out.

In the main event, for the first time ever, TNA’s Mike Santana took on veteran standout Steve Pena in the ‘The Bronx Boricua Bash.

The match lived up to the hype, and then some, as each wrestler matched blow for blow, move for move, and vicious chop for chop.

Santana, fresh of his victory over NXT’s Tavion Heights, looked great in the early going, catching Pena in a fireman’s carry slam.

That looks like it hurt!

But Pena fought back and delivered a few effective kicks and punches of his own to Santana’s body.

After several minutes and kick outs by each grappler, Santana threw Pena into the ropes and hit his opponent with an impressive windmill clothesline, laying him flat for the 1, 2, 3 pinfall.

It was a phenomenal bout, indeed, one in which both competitors can take great pride in, as their talented in-ring abilities were on full display.

After watching Pena go toe-to-toe with Santana, it is beyond me why he has yet to be inked by one of the major promotions. But I am sure he will get his opportunity soon enough.

As for Santana, his star continues to rise, as he will look to claim the TNA Heavyweight Title from NXT’s Trick Williams this Tuesday in Tampa, Florida.

In other action, ‘The Inner-City King’ Jorge Santi took on a host of wrestler, as BCP’s Franchise Champion “Ze Virtuous” Abraham Khan, a true villain, played chicken in an attempt to avoid a pissed off Santi in their handicapped matchup for the strap.

After Santi disposed of wrestler after wrestler, Khan had his cronies intercede in their match, helping him pick up the win and retain the belt. Then, they all attacked Santi post-fight, for good measure.

MagicalGirl Cosmic and Tina San Antonio locked horns in a hard scrambled bout, featuring some smooth moves and hard-hitting action. But it took outside interference from the Colossal Collective for San Antonio to emerge victorious.

BCP tag team champs The Federation (Big CuZZO and Remybrandt) squared off against the ScotaRicans of Dave Rivera and KJ Mack.

However, this match had a special stipulation: the losers had to split up as a tag team.

Rivera came out alone at first, taking on the two big men, and he held his own for a while. But the numbers game, coupled with their size and strength, caught up to him, rendering him a little bit helpless at times.

Until Mack came out from the back, hugged it out with his partner, and evened things up, making it a fair fight.

There were tables busted, blood spilled, and people yelling and screaming through the mayhem.

But in the end, Jem, the ScotaRicans’ valet, mistakenly hit Mack with one of the belts, causing them to drop the bout, and Federation to retain the titles.

In a triple threat bout, Colossal Mike Law Vs. Anthony Gamble Vs. Alex (not sure of last name).

Law attempted a Lionsault, but got his foot caught in one of the barriers and injured himself, earning a trip to the emergency room. Of course, the mishap caused him to leave the ring, as the other two combatants continued to battle it out.

In the end, Alex picked up his first victory of his young pro wrestling career.

Battle Club Pro returns to Brooklyn on Saturday, June 21st, for Jobberslam V.
