Brooklyn Football Club (FC) of the USL Super League (USLS) has finalized the transfer of forward Mackenzie George to Carolina Ascent FC for an undisclosed fee, pending league and federation approval, the team recently announced via press release.
George cemented her reputation as a tenacious force and imaginative playmaker, starting every one of the 28 league matches and registering more than 2,300 minutes on the pitch. With four goals and five assists to her credit, the Roseville, California, native brought both consistency and flair to Brooklyn FC’s inaugural season.
Beyond the field, her infectious energy, natural leadership, and post-game hangouts at Maimonides Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn, with Rocky the pup made her a beloved figure among fans.
George joined Icelandic side FH, an Icelandic multi-sports club (soccer included) based in Hafnarfjörður, after going undrafted in the 2023 National Woemn’s Soccer League (NWSL) Draft.
Before turning pro, George played at the University of Tennessee in her sophomore year until she graduated. She began her college soccer career at Cal Poly, where she played and started in all 19 games as a freshman.
