Yankees Promote Ex-Trenton Thunder Catcher John Cristino to High-A Hudson Valley

The New York Yankees have promoted former Trenton Thunder (MLB Draft League) catcher John Cristino to the Hudson Valley Renegades (High-A South Atlantic League) from the Florida Complex League Yankees, yesterday the American Association announced via X.

With the Renegades, the 25-year-old Haddonfield, N.J., native has two hits and a RBI in 13 at-bats in four contests so far this season.

Also, the 6-foot-2, 225-pound Cristino raked .333 with four home runs and 17 RBI with five doubles and a triple in 93 at-bats in 32 games before New York called him up to Hudson Valley.

Last year, Cristino played with the New England Knockouts (Frontier League), now the Brockton Rox, and York Revolution (Atlantic League), crushing 26 longballs and 73 RBI with a .286 average in 367 at-bats in 96 tilts between both MLB partner league clubs.

Furthermore, he helped the Revolution capture the 2024 Atlantic League championship after the Knockouts traded him.

Cristino has also suited up for the Kane County Cougars in 2023.

Before turning professional, Cristino played for three different college baseball teams: Towson, Rowan College of South Jersey-Glouceste and Rhode Island.
