Megan Wiggins Joins Texas Tailgaters for 2025 Banana Ball League Season

The Texas Tailgaters of the Banana Ball League (BBL) have inked outfielder Megan Wiggins to contract for the rest of the 2025 season, yesterday the league announced via X.

Additionally, she is a three-time National Professional Fastpitch (NPF) League champion, seven-time NPF All-Star Team selection, three-time NPF Home Run champion, also holds the All-Time home run record for professional softball.

Also, Wiggins, a University of Georgia alum, is the owner of The Peaches summer collegiate team and the founder of The Peaches Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster and encourage growth in the softball community for all ages and backgrounds.

The BBL features four teams: The Savannah Bananas, Party Animals, Firefighters, and the Tailgaters.

Known for a list of unusual, quirky rules and premium style of baseball entertainment, the BBL prohibits walks and bunts, has instituted a two-hour time limit, and if a fan catches a foul ball, it counts as an out. Plus, batters are not allowed to step out of the batter’s box and mound visits are not permitted. And on-field dancing and flipping when making a catch is a encourage, regular occurrence.
