Chatham’s Charlie Murray Chooses D3 Denison Big Red Football

Charlie Murray, a rising senior linebacker/tight end at Chatham High School (N.J.), has verbally committed to the admission process at Division III Denison University football program, yesterday he announced via X.

Denison will hold a roster for Murray for the 2026 season.

Before committing to Big Red football, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound Murray held offers from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Rochester, and Ursinus College, per previous articles and his X account.

Additionally, he is a powerful student-athlete who displays impressive lower body strength by squatting 495 pounds, and benches 270 pounds, as well as running the 40-yard dash in 4.77 seconds.

Murray exemplifies a dynamic blend of strength, agility, and athleticism, and his impressive academic achievements complements his overall spirit. His dedication to academic excellence earned him a place in the National Honor Society (NHS) during his junior year.

Add in his volunteer work with Chatham’s St. Patrick Church Youth Ministry (SYPM) Church program, where he serves as a group leader, and you have a well-rounded individual.

Denison posted a 6-4 overall record and went 6-2 in North Coastal Athletic Conference (NCAC) action in the 2024-25 campaign.
