The New York Mets have promoted right-handed pitcher Channing Austin from Low Single-A St. Lucie to High Single-A Brooklyn Cyclones, today the Cyclones announced via X.
Austin, 23, appeared in 21 games, going 2-4 over two seasons with St. Lucie before his call-up.
The Brooklyn, N.Y., native attended University of Southern California (USC) and University of Virginia before inking a contract with the Mets in 2024.
Austin attended Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, where helped the baseball program capture two New York State Championships.
The former high school third baseman played summer ball for the Major League Baseball Draft League’s Trenton Thunder, where he posted a 1-1 record with a 3.00 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 15 innings of work in eight contests.
