Class of 2028 Homewood-Flossmoor High School (Ill.) point guard Darrius Hawkins, Jr. has received an offer from Division I Long Island University Brooklyn (LIU) Men’s basketball program, he recently wrote on X.
The Sharks’ offer was the first for the 5-foot-10 sophomore, who also suits up for Team Hero AAU squad, per his X account.
Known for his clutch play, defensive skills, and crafty play-making abilities, Hawkins is one of the top point guards in his class in the nation, according to ESPN.
LIU put up a 17-16 overall mark and went 12-4 in Northeast Conference (NEC) action this past season. It was a huge improvement over their previous 7-22 overall mark in the 2024-23 campaign.
