Three Manhattan PSAL NYC Boy’s Basketball Teams Week 1 Highlights


With Manhattan High School Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Boy’s basketball recently tipping off, here is how the action for three teams shook out over the last few days.

Baruch College Campus – Win

Junior Maksim Stefanovic enjoyed a fantastic game, draining a game-best 28 points, along with grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists in Baruch College Campus High School’s 67-38 victory over West End Secondary School (1-2) Thursday at Basketball City.

Senior Luca Timoll contributed 11 points, four helpers and three boards in the Division 1A — Manhattan- II win for the 3-0 Bearcats.

Norman Thomas — Win

Norman Thomas High School (Manhattan, N.Y.) used a strong first half to defeat Washington Irvington (0-3), 57-40, Saturday at home in Division 3A — Manhattan- I Conference action.

The Tigers (1-2) received 18 points from junior Marcus Quinones, and 11 points from Souleymane Bah, another junior, to pick up their first victory of the PSAL 2025-26 campaign.

Norman Thomas hosts Percy E. Sutton Educational Campus Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.

East Side Community – Win

Behind big games from junior Christopher Cobaxin and senior Daniel Silva, East Side Community High School (3-0) routed High School for Leadership & Public Service (0-4), 85-45, Friday at Basketball City.

Cobaxin scored 26 points, facilitated four assists and four rebounds, while Silva dropped in 25 points, collected eight boards, and handed out four helpers in the Division 1A — Manhattan- I Conference win.

The Tigers face Institute for Collaborative Education at Seward Park Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
