New Jersey Native, Ex-St. John’s Baseball Product Anthony Brocato Inks with Washington Wild Things

Outfielder Anthony Brocato–a Helmetta, N.J., native–has been signed by the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League, yesterday the team announced on its website.

Brocato played in 27 games for the Cleburne Railroaders of the American Association in 2025 and went yard once, hit eight RBI, and smacked five doubles before inking with the Florence Y’alls of the Frontier League to finish the year. With the Y’alls, he slashed .276/.358/.583 with 10 doubles, 17 home runs and 55 RBI in 52 contests.

Brocato is two-time All-Star, once as a Frontier League’s mid-season All-Star, an another as a postseason All Star, both of which were with Washington.

Brocato enters the 2026 campaign third in Frontier League history with 88 career longballs in the league, 30 of which have come in a Wild Things uniform.

Before turning professional with the Southern Illinois Miners, a former FL team, the 29-year-old righty suited up for St. John’s University (Queens, N.Y.), where he slugged .281 with an .816 career OPS in four seasons with the Red Storm baseball program. Also, Brocato, a former Rutgers Prep product, hit 21 homers and drove in 107 runs in his four-year career at the University.
