The Long Island Ducks have signed right-handed pitcher Harrison Francis for the upcoming Atlantic League (an MLB partner league) 2026 season, today the team announced via their website.
Lew Ford, Ducks manager, said Francis may be used in a few different roles of as a hurler for the club.
“We look forward to welcoming Harrison to Long Island,” Ducks Manager Lew Ford said in a press release. “He has the ability to be a versatile member of our pitching staff this season.”
Francis, 27, is coming off this past Puerto Rican Winter League’s campaign with Criollos de Caguas, in which he posted a 4.05 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 40.0 innings of work across 10 games, nine of which were starts.
He split the 2024 season with the Gastonia Baseball Club in the Atlantic League and Algodoneros de Union Laguna of the Mexican League.
Before that, from 2022-23, Francis suited up with the Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association (2022-23), going 10-14 with a 4.88 ERA and 182 strikeouts in 182.2 innings.
Francis is thrilled to join Long Island and win big with proven talent, key reasons for him to sign on with the Ducks, he noted.
“I’m pumped to be a part of the Ducks and play with other high-level talent,” Francis said. “Being on a team that has experienced players who want to win and continue to play at a high level is what drew me to Long Island. I’m looking forward to going after a ring and becoming the best player I can be.”
Francis spent the first four years of his professional career in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization (2017-19, 2021). A former 4th round selection in the 2017 MLB amateur draft, he went 9-3 with a 5.04 ERA, whiffing 97 hitters in 84.0 frames in 42 contests (seven starts).
