Key suited up for the national ranked Long Island Lutheran High School (LuHi/N.Y.) boy's basketball squad, where he led the Crusaders in scoring average (18 points) and rebounding (8.7) in the 2019-20 year. He also proved a defensive force, blocking two shots per contests.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Key is a graduate transfer who averaged 6.6 points and was fifth on the team in rebounding at 4.1 rebounds per game for the Buckeyes in the 2023-24 campaign.
