Falcon QB Tyler Parham Gets Ready to Release Ball in Opening Season Game Versus Bryant.

With three weeks in the books for the PSAL’s Football Cup Division, there are five teams which remain undefeated at 3-0. Two of the squads will meet Friday night in Bayside, Queens, as the Cardozo Judges host the August Martin Falcons at 6:00 p.m.

Cardozo sits in first place with 147 powerpoints (based on the opposition’s level of competitiveness), with wins over Beach Channel, Stuversant, and Jamaica High Schools.

The Falcons are ranked ninth (70 points), with convincing victories over Bryant, Alfred E. Smith, and Information Technology High Schools.

Offense

The Judges have standout senior running back Tyler Ragler, who has rushed for 362 yards with four touchdowns, and senior quarterback Wendell Sealy, who has thrown for two scores and run for two more. Plus, senior receiver Kemon Lardas, who has caught four passes for 91 yards with two TDs.

There there’s August Martin, who sports the three-headed monster of junior signal-caller Tyler Parham, sophomore receiver Isaiah Allen and sophmore running back Alex Benjamin.

At the age of 16, Parham is in the process of developing into a top-rated passer, completing 17 of 37 attempts for 408 yards with seven touchdowns while hitting paydirt three times on the ground.

Allen has had a highly successful season thus far, grabbing 11 receptions for 314 yards with five scores.

Benjamin has compiled 325 yards with four rushing yards on 28 carries with three TDs.

Defense

The Judges have played three, what appears to be, solid to decent offensive teams so far, and fared pretty well. They did, however, shutout Jamaica in their last contest.

While the Falcons haven’t played any offensive powerhouses thus far, they’ve only permitted three touchdowns all season long.

August Martin will get tested Friday, and whatever happens, it will say a lot about this team, according to Falcons head coach Kyle Allen.

2018 Outcome Between the Two Squads

Last year, Cardozo defeated the Falcons, 22–6, at its home field. But August Matin played well before the Judges pulled away in the second half.
