Bronx Native, Purple Aces Hoopster K.J. Riley Earns College Degree While Hitting the Hardwood

In a life that started out in the Boogie Down Bronx and took him to Standard of Excellence Basketball Academy in Charlotte, NC, then to Howard Texas College and the University of Evansville, K. J. Riley recently graduated with a bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance, We Are Cm3 tweeted.

Sure, Riley enjoyed a solid three-year career at Evansville, where he averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per contest, as well as shooting an impressive 43.3 percent from the field. He also drained a total of 1,062 points in his Purple Aces’ hoops career.

Plus, Riley, who played AAU hoops for New York City’s Cm3 squad, led Evansville to a major upset victory over No. 1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats during the 2019-20 season.

But, more importantly, the 6-foot-five guard earned himself a solid education while playing the game he loves, I am sure.

Whatever Riley chooses to do in life, that education will always be there for him, and that’s a lesson for all student-athletes from which to learn; finish out your college degree, one way or another.
