Former Santa Margarita Catholic High School (CA) Eagles’ Kaine Roberts has verbally committed to Stony Brook men’s basketball program, today he Tweeted.
The 2021, 6-foot-2, 185-pound shooting guard has played for the Earth Friends Tokyo Z–a professional basketball team that competes in the second division of the Japanese B.League.
In limited action with the Earth Friends Tokyo Z, Roberts averaged 3.2 points and one rebound per game.
Additionally, Roberts, who was born to a Japanese mother and American father, played at Nile C. Kinnick High School on the Yokosuka Naval Base.
At just 18 years on age, Roberts seems to already have gained quite bit of life and hoops experience, and he will bring those elements to the Seawolves basketball program next season.
Stony Brook is currently 7-7 and 4-2 in the American East Conference (AEC). Last year, the Seawolves posted a 20-13 record and went 10-6 in AEC play.
