Staten Island FerryHawks Ink First Ever Ex-MLBer Rymer Liriano

The Staten Island FerryHawks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) today have announced they have signed former MLB outfielder Rymer Liriano to a contract for the upcoming 2022 season. Liriano is the team’s first ever ex-MLB signing.

Liriano hit two home runs, 12 RBI and had 17 runs scored in 150 at-bats in 59 MLB games between the San Diego Padres and Chicago White Sox.

On January 3, 2019, Liriano signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets that included an invitation to spring training. He played with the Mets Triple-A affiliate Syracuse Mets, smacking 10 homers and 29 RBI in 201 at-bats in 82 tilts.

For his minor league career, the 6-foot, 230-pound 30-year-old batted .269 with 115 longballs, 518 runs driven in, 612 runs scored, and 215 stolen bases in 3753 at-bats in 1045 contests.
