New Jersey Native Matthue Cotton Transfers from Yale to Hawaii Hoops


Matthue Cotton, a Voorhees, N.J., native, has transferred from Yale University to Hawaii at Manoa, to play Division I basketball for the Ranbow Warriors, yesterday Star Advertiser reporter Stephen Tsai Tweeted

Cotton averaged 7.1 points per game in the 2021-22 season with the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder had 18 D1 offers, per VerbalCommits.com, before committing to Yale after his senior year at Eastern Regional High School (N.J.), where he averaged 19 points and nine rebounds.

Cotton played for Saint Benedict’s High School (N.J.) in his junior year and at Academy of the New Church (Pa.) as a sophomore and freshman. He drained more than 1,000 points in his high school basketball career.

Hawaii is 19-8 overall and 10-5 in Big West Conference action thus far this season.
