Jets’ Punter Thomas Morstead Dubbed AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Many special team players are often the unsung heroes of the game. Such is the case for New Jet punter Thomas Morstead, whom the AFC named its Special Teams Player of the Week for last week, today the NFL announced.

Thomas Morstead lands AFC Player of the Week Award.

The AFC dubbed Morstead as its Player of the Week after he had an average of 48.1 yards per punt in 11 attempts, with three inside the five-yard line in the Jets’ 13-10 overtime victory over the New York Giants Sunday at MetLife Stadum.

His impressive performance kept the Jets in the game, allowing for them to come back and beat the Giants.
