La Salle University Women’s basketball team picked up its second victory of the young season, as Staten Island, New York, native Nicole Melious (Wagner High School) dropped in a team-best 22 points, as the Explorers (2-1) defeated American (1-1), 62-53, Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia on Homecoming Day.

La Salle junior guard Gabby Turco led all teams with 10 rebounds.

The Explorers return to action Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. versus Drexel.
