The Kansas City Royals organization has signed Ex-Staten Island FerryHawks (Atlantic League) and Rutgers University baseball infielder Chris Brito, a Perth Amboy, New Jersey native, to a contract for the upcoming 2024 campaign, today the FerryHawks announced via X.
Brito smacked .317 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI in 52 games with Staten Island in the 2023 season.
While with the Scarlet Knights, Britto batted .293 with 46 longballs and 200 RBI, both school records, along with a .413 OBP in his five-year career at the university.
Additionally, Britto earned 2023 All-Big Ten Second Team honor.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Britto played four seasons of varsity baseball at Perth Amboy High School, and was a three-time first team all-conference, all-division and all-area selection.
