Florida’s Indian River State College Men’s basketball sophomore guard Jayshayne Woodard–a Harlem, New York, native– has verbally committed to Division I East Carolina University Pirates, today basketball scout Derek Murray announced on X.
The 6-foot-7 Woodward, formerly of Wings Academy (Bronx) and Woodstock Academy (New Egland), was a Junior College (JUCO) All-American as a freshman, and has averaged 15.0 points, 9.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game in 15 contests so far this season as a sophomore.
Woodward also suited up for the AAU Riverside Hawks in New York City.
The Pioneers are 13-2 overall and 0-2 in Florida College System Activities Assocation Athletics (FCSAAA) conference action so far this season. Indian River will travel to Eastern Florida State College Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
East Carolina is 9-7 overall and 2-1 American Athletic Conference (AAC) thus far in the 2023-24 campaign.
