The Staten Island FerryHawks have re-signed ex-MLB outfielder Justin Williams to a contract for the 2024 Atlantic League season, today the team announced via X.
Wiliams, 28, joined Staten Island in late 2023, batting .314 with five homeruns and 14 RBI in 70 at-bats in 21 tilts. Before that, in 2023, he suited up for the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Assocation, where he hit three dingers and drove in 16 RBI in 111 at-bats in 31 contests.
In October of 2023, Williams was selected 13th overall in the Baseball United start-up draft and played in their “Dubai Showcase.”
The Houma, La., native played parts of three MLB seasons for the Tampa Bay Rays and St. Louis Cardinals, slugging four longballs, 11 RBI and 18 walks in 125 at-bats and 55 contests.
The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Williams in the 2nd round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft out of Terrebonne High School.
